"This is such a unique opportunity to stay in a real Japanese household. The owner didn't speak much English but with a help of phone translation we could figure out everything. The place is a bit away so we had a person in tourist office to call and the owner picked us up and next day drop us off. We received dinner and a breakfast and food was very tasty. "今回、8月12日身内に不幸ごとがあり、その3週間前から.危険な状態が続いていたので、7月末にキャンセルをしました。しかし、私のキャンセルのし忘れだったホテルがあったみたいで、ご迷惑をかけました。別のホテルは、こちらの状態を聞いていただき、本当にかかった経費だけの請求でしたが、こちらのホテルは、宿泊予定だった翌日のしかも朝の7時過ぎに電話一本で無愛想に連絡があり、こちらの状態も確認せず、全額払とてほしいとのことでした。年配の責任者でしたが、サービス業とは思えない対応と心配りに欠ける責任者でした。全額振込みましたが。もう二度と予約はしないです。"

"The staff was incredibly kind, giving us detailed directions into Matsumoto and even going out of their way to drop us off at a more convenient train station! The property is tucked up in the mountains, and it was magical to gaze at the magnificent view while soaking in the rotemburo (outdoor bath). This is a special place, that makes you feel like part of their family. The food was exceptional and a true kaiseki experience!"

"Room was smaller than expected (about 10 tatami). Onsen was fine. Food was tasty, and changed the second day, which is nice. The ryokan building itself is quite pretty. It's easy enough to find, less than a 10 minute walk from the station. It is in the middle of a town, so it doesn't feel very rural, but I guess that's a tradeoff for the convenience of the location. And since it's in a town, it's quite easy to walk out to cafes, restaurants, convenience store, etc. Staff were all very friendly....

"Staff were great, especially Yoko as she spoke English and was able to help with requests. One source of stress was having to pay in cash if you elect to pay at the accommodation. This should be made clear when booking. We would have happily paid by credit card in advance had it been made clear. No one from overseas carries that kind of cash. The ryokan should be encouraged to adjust their "rule" and take credit cards."

"The house itself is beautiful but all around it is extremely badly taking care of. The yard is a mess, the grass high, and just next to some run down green houses. Some kind of a huge computer was making a terrible noise when we arrived, the owner allow us to turned it off thankfully. Could be a wonderful place to stay "
