Rooms
All 174 guestrooms at Algonquin Hotel Times Square, Autograph Collection were renovated in 2009 by noted designer Alexandra Champalimaud. Rooms feature signature pillowtop mattresses with a comforter and duvet, as well as upgraded bed linens. This hotel also offers 24 suites with the residential feel of a New York City apartment.
Wireless Internet access is complimentary, and guests may borrow laptop computers without charge. Televisions offer pay movies. Complimentary DVDs are available on request. Closets contain umbrellas.
Decor features antique-replica dark-wood furniture including work desks with two-line speakerphones. A copy of the New Yorker magazine can be found in all guestrooms; the magazine was founded at the Algonquin. Hallways feature wallpaper designed by New Yorker cartoonist Robert Mankoff.

Oak Room Supper Club - Intimate Manhattan cabaret offering dinner and shows seasonally.
The Round Table Restaurant - Restaurant and cocktail area of the hotel located in the back of the lobby. Restaurant offers a pre-theater menu with light fare, steaks, and specialty dishes. Room features the Natalie Ascencios painting, A Vicious Circle.
The Blue Bar - Wood-paneled bar serving food and drinks into the evening. Cocktails feature fresh juices and flavor blends.
The Lobby Lounge - Extensive beverage, wine, and spirits menu. Light fare. Open from early morning until late evening.
Recreation
Central Park, less than a mile north, offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including tennis courts, rowboat rentals, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, running, and in-line skating. The Wollman Rink is open for ice skating seasonally, as is the rink at Rockefeller Center, which is four blocks north of the hotel.

“Big Dream, Little Hotel - Algonquin Perfect!”
Being in New York City for Christmas Eve was only made that much better by being at the Algonquin! With its rich history, fabulous location, and outstanding staff, my dream vacation was just "dreamy!" and too good to wake up from! The next time I dream a big dream to celebrate Christmas in the City, it will include this quaint little hotel with a big heart right in the heart of the Times Square district!
“Don't ever change!”
How wonderful that in the day of big-box, no-personality blandity-bland hotels some choose to remain faithful to tradition without giving up on any of the subtle little luxuries. One of my BEST city stays!
“Class, history & cozy comfort in a great location”
the rooms (ours were, not all) are tiny but very comfortable and well appointed. Great, comfy bed! If you appreciate history, literature and old-school charm, you will love the Algonquin. If your business in NYC is in mid-town/Times Square area, & you can get a reasonable rate, it's a nice, quiet, very civil alternative to the modern 60-story luxe hotels, just a block & a half from the bustle of Broadway.

“Excellent new york hotel”
The algonquin is a lovely hotel and superbly placed in midtown manhattan. We had a great time and found the room and the service to be of the highest quality. The rooms are not large but have all mod cons. Hanving a safe in the room is another benefit. It is very close to time square and a short walk from many of the citys major tourist attractions. I fully recommend a trip to new york and the algonquin.
“Excellent central in Manhattan”
Conducive 1930's ambience and inventive interior design touches - be amused by the wall paper whilst waiting for the lift ! Relaxing live jazz played in the wood pannelled lobby. Genial and helpful staff.

The service is what sets the hotel apart. Couple that with the convenient location makes it a winner in my book. A few nitpiks - no ice machines, have to wait for room service - plus the rooms are tiny. Quite a bit smaller than others we have stayed in. Matilda the lobby cat is wonderful - made me feel right at home. Beds are wonderful, so is the shower. Thats all we really needed for our stay. I think a first timer and or veteran traveler would enjoy the Algonquin.
“Great hotel with historical background”
The wallpaper in the halls surrounding the rooms depict cartoons from the past. Although the room was small it was very clean and the TV was super. The bed was a little soft for us. Location was excellent.

“Everything you need in the city!”
Wow! Let me start off by saying that I was extreamly nervous about just 'picking' a hotel in NYC for my HONEYMOON! It was a surprise trip for my husband so I wanted everything to be perfect. And it was a 10. Hands down. Everything from the doorman, to check in, room service and Matilda!... far exceeded my expectations. The rooms are small compared to California standars but SO clean. So cozy. The bed was amazing! It was more comfortable than my bed at home. You are 2 blocks from Times Square, 2-3 blocks from shopping on Madison Ave/5th street. If you are driving, there is a 24 hour parking garage directly across the street. Room service is awesome! I suggest John's on 12 street for Italian! Roxy in Times Square for lunch! Whether you are going with family, business or a vacation, for the price.... you cannot go wrong. Free internet for the length of your stay.. in your room....! Must do: Double decker bus tour Ground Zero Central Park
