“Edison Hotel New York”
Ideal location off Times Square. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Anita, concierge, who went out of her way to help us, and was very friendly and approachable. 4 of us shared a combo suite which had 2 double bedrooms and a sitting area in 1 of the rooms, ideal for a family or group of friends, only downside was that there was only 1 bathroom, situated off 1 of the bedrooms. Room was very clean and comfortable, clean towels provided every day. Would definitely return to this hotel, good value for money.
“Great value for money and fantastic location”
Great location- right by Times Square, shops and restuarants. Definitely value for money. Nice and clean with comfy beds. Fantastic for sight seeing. We stayed room only, but the cafe and bar was clean and looked nice. We definitley got what we paid for and more- would pay just for the location!
“Great location, great room, great price”
hotel was very nice for the price. they were having issues with the water but it didn't really effect our stay, they shut the water off from midnight to 5am one night so not really a big deal. Great location its right around the corner from time square and the 1.2.3 trains are close by. the staff was friendly and the hotel room was clean. There are also some great restaurants around the corner. I would stay at the edison again.
“comfort of the room”
i love the edison hotel. it is filled with history and character. the desk attendants were very helpful. my only complaint is that the room was very cold one night. it appeared to not have any heater or vents in the room. otherwise love the place and will recommend and return there again.
“10 out of 10!”
After arriving late afternoon my sister & i were greeted with smiles & polite staff. Our check in was fast, succulent, & helpful. The lobby itself was beautifully decorated, our twin room was a good size with ample storage space in the form of two walk in wardrobes & a chest of draws, we had a modern flat screen tv though it was hardly used! we had an iron, ironing board, & hair dryer which proved vital at the poor ampage to run our own. the room itself was comfortable & very welcoming after a day of exploring NYC, Security was great with a safety deposit box behind reception to hold our passports with no extra charge and a simple but secure way of storing them safely. All staff were polite from the maids to the doormen, being welcomed back after a long day we were asked to show our room keys too when ever we approached the lifts which i thought was an ample safety measure. The bathroom was fine, however it was dated the location was ideal leading us straight out onto time square we couldn't ask for a better spot, the hotel provides wi-fi but at an additional charge! Don't be fooled you can get free wi-fi from the starbucks across the road & they don't mind how long you stay! the concierge was helpful in ringing through to a comedy store for us to make a reservation, my sister & I also wanted to go see a broadway show & asked one of the bell boys who knew all about the best places to go, the best review I could give would be to say I would stay again!
“The Edison Hotel was in the center of it all!”
Location! Location! Location! We had easy access to and from Times Square, Broadway, Rockerfeller Center, etc... by foot.
“Excellent hotel and location”
Having read previous reviews for The Edison Hotel I was a bit apprehensive but just thought as long as the rooms were clean that was all we needed as we didn't intend spending much time in the hotel, more as a base to sleep and location was excellent - just 50 metres from Times Square! We were pleasantly surprised on arrival. The Art Deco interior of the reception area and areas off were lovely. Reception staff very helpful and efficient. Our room on 7th floor at front of hotel was large with huge bed and large sofa bed, plenty of storage space, a small but ample new bathroom/shower suite, with TV and free ice from the machine. We experienced no noise from adjoining rooms or corridors, however, there was building work taking place opposite the hotel which did start about 6.30am but no fault of the hotel. No charge for safety deposit box at Reception and only 50 cents per bag to store securely on day of departure. Maintenance was brilliant - we couldn't unlock our door to get out the first morning, telephoned Reception and within 5 minutes the maintenance man arrived to fix it. Cannot comment on food as we weren't around to eat at mealtimes, spent all day out sightseeing.
“Great place to stay if you love theater!”
Location is great! Staff is great! Room was great except for the fact that the chairs were short as well as the toilet, which isn't a problem unless you have long legs. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is small but it works and the shower was fine. Had to pay for WIFI. We have stayed there many times and have never been disappointed.
“27/2/12”
Friendly staff, clean room and great location, what more can you ask for?
“NY classic!”
Great all round, typical New York hotel with a superb location. Would definately recommend!
