“A great escape!”
Just ten minutes from the airport, the Ritz-Carton San Juan was the perfect spot for our quick weekend getaway. We were in our room about 30 minutes after we landed. The poolside service made us feel pampered and let us relax. The beach is small but very clean and gives a great view. Even though it's close to the airport, the planes take off and land in the other direction so it is not intrusive to the relaxing vibe. Their full-service spa is very convenient and had great service. We also used their concierge, who recommended and set us up for dinner in Old San Juan at a nice little place with delicious food. On site there are some very high level restaurants (Il Mulino, BLT Steak). Being from NYC there was no reason to dine there, which is why we opted for local fare. We did not go to the casino, but it is a real casino with table games and many slot machines. All in all this is a perfect spot for a quick weekend in the sun.
“Would definitely recommend. The service was fantastic.”
I was very impressed with the Ritz. The level of service was extraordinary. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Pool area is very nice and the restaurants on the property are good. Fitness center was very good as far as hotel gyms go. Spa was also very nice. Everything is fairly expensive as you might expect from a Ritz, but I was impressed with the quality of everything.
“The Best in Service”
We enjoyed am amazing week at the Ritz. The service cannot be compared...from the reception to the restaurants to the pool and beach staff, they were very attentive and helpful. You did not feel like leaving the hotel! Breakfast at Mares was great and the wait staff always remembered who you were-food was yummy too! Only complaint is that the housekeeping was often very late in the day but they did an excellent job!
“Very convenient from the airport yet not noisy as one might expect.”
Very convenient from the airport yet not noisy as one might expect. Perfect for business traveller in overnight transit to other islands
“Excellent Hotel, Excellent service!”
Great hotel with a great location. It is located across the street from the airport. My family stayed here for one night post cruise. The service was top notch! The room was wonderful and the pool and beach area was spectacular!! I cannot say enough about the great service we received not only poolside, but inside the hotel itself. Definitely worth the few extra bucks!!!!
“Can't wait to go again.”
One word for hotel and services -- Fabulous.
“WONDERFUL!!!!”
This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is overly attententive. Its amazing how out of all of the occupants, they remember your name. Very personal service. Will definitely go back. Too clean!!!!!!
“Great hotel...not impressed with the area”
We thought that the Ritz was a great hotel. Just what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The staff were very friendly. We were not crazy about the food or drink prices in the hotel. Also, unless you pay for the garden view upgrade be prepared to have an air conditioner blocking your "city view".
“Puerto Rico's Best hotel.”
We arrived at the resort just around lunch time, and since the room wasn't ready the front desk gave us a free lunch and beverage pass for the day including a spa treatment for free. So from then on I knew this vacation was going to be one of the best. The food was incredible, we did go out to Old San Juan because we wanted to explore, we called the concierge and they made a reservation for us from their knowledge, both nights and they made sure there was a taxi waiting for us. The food was a little pricey but it was definitely good. The beach was gorgeous and the staff set up the loungers just where we wanted them. The pool area was definitely great, and the poolside and beachside food&drink service was great. I never really get truly relaxed as I am a stressed out person and we were only there for 4 short days, and I was completely relaxed by the end of it. I can't wait to go back. It was definitely worth the thousands of dollars that we had spent. CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK. Don't even think about staying anywhere else. The only problem was that it was a bit close to the airport, so it was noisy at times but it was convenient. Thanks Ritz-Carlton for one of the best vacation's ever!
“wonderful vacation”
the service personnel were extremely pleasant and couldn't do enough for us - especially the waiters/waitresses and housekeeping. pool and beach were crowded (presidents week) and so lounge chairs had to be reserved early - not what you would want from a luxury hotel.
