“Book this hotel now”
We were after a fairly central hotel as we couldn't be bothered with rail trips in and out of the city at night. The Grand Hotel Palatino is a great place to stay. Take the non-stop train from the airport to the main station, take the main exit and turn left to find the Via Cavour. It's only a 10-15 minute walk down the road on your RHS. It's a perfect hotel to explore the city with some great bars and nice eateries close-by. Rooms are a good size and very clean. The front of house staff are extremely helpful - all English speakers - and successfully chased our lost luggage with the airport. The breakfast staff can be a bit 'Faulty Towers' but it's kind of comical in a way. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and have already recommended it to a few friends.
“very well located with helpful, friendly employees”
Enjoyed staying there, They turn the air conditioning off at night but other than that it was a great location and hotel.
“Very impressed, great location, can't wait to return!”
I was very impressed by the quality of this hotel. It was a great rate, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean and I was completely satisfied. I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel Palatino to all those who want to fully explore Rome. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel and you will truly enjoy Italy.
“Great location , walking distance from the Termini and most of the ruins.”
The hotel was the perfect place to stay in Rome. Close enough to walk to and from the Termini Train Station and also to the ruins. Clean & comfortable and everything in great working condition. Staff was very helpful with info on bus tours and made necessary calls for us to be sure we did not miss out tour. Not a whole lot of smiling going on but helpful none the less.
“Very central hotel”
This hotel is close to many of the best attractions in Rome. The underground is nearly opposite and a few good restaurants around the local area. The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite. I would recommend this hotel for a city break to Rome.
“Better than expected”
Stayed at this hotel on our trip to Italy in November. Great for the price, decent bathroom, clean, and centrally located. Also, conveniently close to the main train station. Overall, we had a good experience and recommend the hotel.
“Fantastic location”
I have just returned from Rome after spending a six night break with my husband and 13 year old daughter. we have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Grand Hotel Palatino at all. The hotels location is perfect, just a short stroll from the colosseum and Forum and just a hop awat from the metro. THe Hotel is just one stop from the Termini station and we had no difficulty negotiating our way around both lines. Just one note of caution, Metro line A (the line which connects the trevi fountain, spanish steps etc) closes at 2130 hours. Even so, after missing our last train we simply walked back to the hotel with no concerns for our safety. We had been pre-warned about pickpockets and bag snatchers before we went and thankfully had an incident-free holiday. However, a lady on the same flight as ourselves had her camera stolen on the first day after finding herself wedged in on a bus, so do be careful and vigilant. Most of all, have fun and enjoy. Rome is fantastic.
“Good Value”
Really, for the price, this hotel was an extremely good value. We had three people, but three single beds in the room still left a decent amount of space remaining. The room was comfortable, the only negative being the lack of space in the bath/shower. Great location, with a metro station nearby, and many major sites within walking distance. Internet cafe next door, and lots of restaurants in the vicinity. Breakfast at the hotel was actually quite good, with lots of variety and a good staff. Only negatives -- not much English on the TV and no English newspaper, in the hotel or even in the neighborhood. Overall, a great bargain and great place to stay.
“An excellent base”
We had an extremely good stay at the Grand Hotel Palatino - The accommodation was excellent and the self-service breakfast offered plenty of choice. Staff were very helpful - nothing was too much trouble and all were very courteous. The hotel's location is very central and an easy walk from the major historic sites. There is also a Metro station two minutes walk away... We would certainly return here and would recommend this hotel as an excellent base from which to explore the city.
