“Made our stay in Salzburg more peaceful, enjoyable & welcoming!”

This hotel is older but the view of Salzburg is well worth the trade-off. We enjoy being off the main thoroughfares and Schoene Aussicht provided that level of peace & quiet. The Hotel employees were very accomodating, spoke English fluently and extremely helpful. We decided to try out their Hotel Restaurant for dinner on our first night and what a tasteful, well presented, pleasant surprise. The wine selections of local Austrian wines were a hit.

“Hotel Schoene Aussicht a hit!!”

OK, the hotel is a out of the city of Salzburg, but it is certainly worth the view, the quiet and friendliness of the staff. The hotel has a pool which was very refreshing during the 90 plus degree weather during our stay. Internet access is free but from the lobby not the rooms. A rental car is a must! We found that even though you had to drive from the hotel to the city center, the cost of parking in one of the many parking garages in the city was less expensive than city hotels would charge for overnight parking. It was simply convenient. A GPS is very helpful and recommended. The hotel staff even pointed out some tips for parking in the city - very helpful! It cools down very nicely in the evening during the hot days that we were there (early July), so we were able to open our windows and sleep quite comfortably. We simply enjoyed the experience and would go again. The price during our stay was very reasonable and we would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Salzburg.

“An excellent hotel away from the hustle and bustle of downtown”

Lovely views from all rooms. Be aware that this is a walk up hotel. Renovations going on while there. No noise or durt from the workers. Internet access is only available on the ground floor. The resturant was excellent but a little pricy. Please note that the hotel is on a hill with a narrow, winding road to get there. It's worth the drive. Another guest who was staying there while we were had trouble getting some taxis to take them up the hill. If not using a rental vehicle, keep this in mind. The hotel is about 15 minutes from old town.

“When I visit a Salzburg I will stay there”

Quiet and nice atmosphere. Nice view of the Slazburg panorama, probably better in Spring and Summer (because of sunny days)!

“Brilliant hotel!!!”

This hotel was amazing! I was so pleased I chose to stay here. Although it is a few miles from the city centre, the view from my balcony was well worth the 20 min trek up the hill. The faclities were very good, especially the sauna and whirlpool which we were able to book and use privately whenever we wanted to. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone of you ever visit Salzburg. The owners and staff are super friendly and always available to answer any questions. The buffet breakfast provided the perfect start to the day. Overall a brilliant hotel

“Beautiful view, great location, top-notch staff.”

The Hotel Schoene Aussicht is great place. We stayed three nights and we would definitley stay there again. The view of Salzburg and the surrounding Alps from the hotel and from our room was beautiful. Room was very clean and quiet, and the level of service in the hotel and the restaurant was top-notch. A very nice breakfast every morning. We ate one dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. Free wi-fi Intenet access works well, but is available in the lobby area only.

“Nice place, a bit tough to find”

We loved this location high on a hill above Salzburg. It was a bit tricky to find using Google maps for directions. However it was worth it.

“Perfect Honeymoon!”

Location of hotel at top of 15/20min walk up steep incline but well worth the view at the top!! In our two week stay, only got a taxi back to hotel twice (once when arrived with case). Bus stop at bottom - but we enjoyed hour's walk into Salzburg most days. Bus service around Salzburg excellent. Hotel staff very friendly, lovely breakfast and use of sauna suite in with price (very relaxng). Can recommend Panorama Tours - Sound of Music and Bavarian mountains and Salt Mine - can pick you up from hotel if required. Train and Bus services excellent, so were able to enjoy trips to surrounding villages etc. Was lucky enough to see Salzburg with and without snow - both make for beautiful scenery - as had always imagined it to be. It helped to make our honeymoon very memorable!

“The real Austria”

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it. We ate there the first night and the food was excellent. The chef was Phil the managers cousin so the place created a family feel about it. The veiws were absolutely superb and the continental breakfast was very substantial and enjoyable. The staff were very helpful. We got The Salzburg Card and the hotel staff gave us a lift down to the bus stop with a good heart. The return journey from town was best done by taxi. We got a bus back one night and ended up walking back to the hotel from the hotel at the bottom of the hill which is seriously best left to young and really fit. We hired a car as recommended in other reviews and so didnt really suffer from the hotels remote location. When we booked we didnt stipulate a view so the room we had was dated, the shower gave a random temperature delivery and the kings size bed had 2 single mattresses butted together which spoilt our togetherness. Saltzburg aint cheap and the beer/food prices were consistent with the rest of the place but thats really just an observation as the quality was there. We definitely got what we paid for.

“Sound of Music location”

The greenery around the hotel will remind you of the "Sound of Music." Pay to get a balcony room with a view of the city if you stay here as it is on a hill and well worth it. Breakfast is excellent and desk personel very helpful. Bear in mind the rooms are on the small side (although very clean), and YOU CANNOT WALK to this hotel with bags (it's about 1 mile on severe uphill grade)...so a car is recommended or plan on cabs to town (appr. $25 each way)...enjoy!
