"I've stayed her 5-6 times before. Rooms are big, albeit decorated in older style. Hotel is probably decades old, but well mainatained and clean. Breakfast selection is good. No gym, business center (they have a tiny room on lobby floor that doesn't have a door so it can be noisy), no seating area in lobby. But you care more about the actual room, this is a good value."

"Hotel seems quite new. Room is fairly spacious and beds are comfortable. Shower has good pressure and consistent temperature. Breakfast (vegetarian) spread is very good and tasty. Hotel has own car park sites just behind the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is great - walking distance to night market and several famous eateries. Will definitely stay here again if I come to Hualien"

"We were in this hotel when the big earthquake hit (epicenter about 10 miles south) and it was very scary. The hotel staff were so nice and calming and reassuring. they got right to work cleaning up all the broken stuff and checking all rooms and reassuring people. Then when it was discovered there was damage to the water tank and there would be no water in the guestrooms they found us another place to stay so we were perfectly comfortable and cared for. "We liked the private hot spring in the room but would feel more comfortable if there was a sign indicating that the pool was cleaned/sanitized after every guest stay. We also liked the convenience of the underground parking as well as the excellent breakfast. The International portion of the hotel is rather dated with an unpleasant smell at the elevator lobby, but not inside the room. Some of the floor tiles inside were cracked but the room we had was spacious, quiet and quite pleasant. Also...

"Very nice stay in the suite with a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately the earthquake cut our stay short, but they were so accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. What a terrifying thing for the staff to navigate - they were wonderful. I fear the hotel had significant damage and hope they will be able to reopen. "
