The property is newer than its peers and sits just minutes (driving) from the entrance of the breathtaking, unique and spectacular Taroko National Park. All the rooms look out to the gorgeous view of the ocean/sunrise or sunset/and the famous Qingshui Cliff, which is a delight to wake up to. The service at Liiko is nothing short of 5-star. The genuine warmth of the lobby managers, front dest and kitchen staff. Breakfast offers seasonal AND local produce, with Liiko's "homemade" items. All taste fresh, high quality and delicious. This review would be a remiss if I did not mention the gorgeous private, large and impeccably manicured garden, where 2 ducks call their permanent home. There are also 3 well behaved kitties on site and cared for by the hotel staff, whom you may see lounging around living their best lives. I will definitely come back, as this is my choice of stay when in Hualien/Taroko.

The room was clean, the staff was very helpful, and the food was great. I cannot more highly recommend this hotel. We came here before in 2023 when we were hiking in Taroko and stopped here on our trip down the east coast this time even with no plans in Taroko just because the hotel is so lovely.

Exceptional stay.

Taroko Liikko Hotel ranks the highest in my list in terms of exceptional excellent customer service from all my years of travelling and staying in hundreds of hotels all over the world. This hotel treats you like you are their house guest and not a customer. Every staff gives her best and goes all out to serve and help you personally. I have great respect for the bosses and indeed felt very honoured to have stayed here and experienced their hospitality.

It's a nice property, a short distance from Xincheng railway station. Facility is clean, nicely designed & decorated. Staff is warm and helpful. We planned to visit Taroko national park but due to the earthquake from 2024/04/03 and subsequent typhoons there are extensive damages and almost all the usual POIs are closed and local transportation unavailable. The front desk went above and beyond to help us hire a car for half a day so we could at least see some sights - we're very grateful. Shortcomings are few - beds are hard (no pillow top mattress); we messaged and called for a pickup from the station but they ended up forgetting - we have to call again from our international number and the shuttle showed up soon after. Overall still a solid recommendation and when Taroko is restored we love to come back and stay longer.

So relaxing hotel

We stayed to visit power plant near there. We arrived in evening but the staff was very kind and booked their restaurant for us. The room and view was nice and we liked friendly staff service. The cats were so cute! In the morning I could enjoy the walking around the coast and small temples, not so much shops but so attractive place.

Beautiful hotel and comfortable and spacious room. However, the main attraction which is the Taroko park is completely closed because of the earthquake in April 2024. Therefore, there's not much to do in Xincheng..

Wonderful hotel and employees

We were in this hotel when the big earthquake hit (epicenter about 10 miles south) and it was very scary. The hotel staff were so nice and calming and reassuring. they got right to work cleaning up all the broken stuff and checking all rooms and reassuring people. Then when it was discovered there was damage to the water tank and there would be no water in the guestrooms they found us another place to stay so we were perfectly comfortable and cared for. Vrey lovely, professional staff and very accomdating in a very scary time.
