️ The Journey
The road hugs the Shyok River, passing through lush fruit orchards and beneath towering granite walls. As we leave the main valley, the terrain gets rugged and the views more intimate.

The real adventure begins as we lace up our boots for the 4–5 hour trek from Kanday Village to the alpine pastures of Mingulo Broq. This is a steady, rewarding ascent that transitions from village life to the raw beauty of the Karakoram.
The Ascent
The trail climbs away from the stone houses of Kanday, winding through terraced fields of barley and apricot trees. As we gain altitude, the path becomes more rugged, following a glacial stream that provides a refreshing soundtrack to our hike.
️ Reaching the Broq
Mingulo Broq is a stunning summer pasture used by local shepherds.
The Landscape: Expect lush green grass contrasted against the stark, towering granite walls that start to close in.
First Sights: You’ll get your first intimate looks at the jagged needles that make this region famous.

1 stop
Meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks
Accommodation: Camp in Nangma’s meadows. Sleep to the mesmerising sounds of nearby glaciers and rushing rivers under a starry sky.
Amin Brakk
The 3–4 hour trek from Mingulo Broq to Nangma Valley is a breathtaking journey deeper into a landscape often called the "Yosemite of the Karakoram." As we move through the valley, the scenery shifts from alpine meadows to a dramatic theatre of vertical stone.
️ Entering Nangma Valley
The trail opens up into a stunning, lush basin surrounded by some of the most impressive granite monoliths on Earth. The contrast between the soft green valley floor and the harsh, jagged peaks is nothing short of cinematic.
The Mighty Amin Brakk
Our ultimate goal is the base of Amin Brakk. This is a legendary name in the world of big-wall climbing.
The Wall: Amin Brakk is a colossal, sheer granite tower that dominates the skyline. It’s a "hard and mighty" rock, rising nearly 1,200m in a near-vertical sweep.
The Experience: Standing at the base, you truly feel the scale of the Karakoram.
We’ll set up camp in the shadow of this giant, surrounded by pure wilderness.
Day 7: Trek to the stunning K6 Base Camp and return to Nangma. Incredible glacier views and soaring peaks in every direction!
1 stop
Meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks
Accommodation: Relax in Nangma Valley. Soak in the views of granite spires, explore the meadows, and recharge amidst mountain serenity.
Nangma Valley Kanday
The excursion to the K6 Base Camp is a short but spectacular 2-hour return trek that brings you face-to-face with one of the most elegant giants of the Karakoram.
️ The Majesty of K6
At 7,282 metres, K6 (also known as Baltistan Peak) is a massive, ice-clad pyramid that dominates the head of the valley. Unlike the vertical granite walls of Amin Brakk, K6 is a world of shimmering glaciers and steep snow slopes. The trek to its base provides a front-row seat to the raw power of the high mountains.
The Journey & Return
The Path: The trail is relatively gentle as it winds through the upper reaches of the Nangma Valley, crossing glacial moraines and alpine streams.
The View: From the base, you can witness the scale of the hanging glaciers and hear the distant thunder of ice.
Back to Nangma: After soaking in the views, we descend back to the lush, green meadows of Nangma Valley for a restful afternoon and a final night under the spires.
Day 8: Rest in Nangma. Film, photograph, and enjoy the nature of this stunning granite valley. Recharge among the peaks.
1 stop
Meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks
Accommodation: Overnight stay under the blue sky with twinkling stars
Nangma Valley Kanday
A rest day in Nangma Valley is a photographer’s dream and a chance to truly soak in the "Yosemite of the Karakoram." Without the pack on your back, you can focus entirely on the landscape.
Photography & Cinematography
With shifting light throughout the day, it is the perfect time to capture the sheer scale of the granite giants.
Golden Hour: Film the sun hitting the 1,200m vertical face of Amin Brakk or the icy crown of K6.
Details: Capture the contrast of delicate alpine wildflowers against the brutal, hard rock.
Pure Nature
Spend your time wandering the lush meadows, following the winding glacial streams. Listen to the "music" of the mountains—the roar of the river and the distant thunder of ice. Whether you are making videos of grazing yaks or simply sitting in silence, Nangma provides a serene, high-altitude sanctuary to recharge before the journey back. Enjoy the peace of the wild!
Day 9: Trek back to Kanday village, then drive to Skardu. Transition from rugged mountain trails to the heart of Baltistan!
1 stop
Meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks
Accommodation: Overnight stay at Mountain Lounge, Relax Inn, or a similar comfortable hotel. Relax and unwind after your adventure!
Skardu
The journey concludes as we trace our steps back from the high wilderness to the vibrant culture of Baltistan.
The Descent to Kanday
The trek from the high meadows of Nangma back down to Kanday Village takes about 3–4 hours. Going downhill allows you to appreciate the changing vegetation and the scale of the valley from a new perspective. As the granite spires recede behind you, the terraced fields and stone architecture of Kanday reappear, offering a warm welcome back to village life.
The Drive to Skardu
After a final farewell to our local porters, we board our jeeps for the drive back to Skardu.
The Route: The road winds alongside the turquoise waters of the Shyok and Indus Rivers.
The Landscape: You’ll pass through small settlements and over suspension bridges, watching the rugged Karakoram terrain soften as you approach the city.
Arriving in Skardu, you can enjoy a hot shower and a celebratory meal, reflecting on the "mighty rocks" and memories of Nangma.
Day 10: Drive to Chilas via the Karakoram Highway or catch a scenic flight back to Islamabad. The choice is yours!
1 stop
Meals: breakfast, snacks
Accommodation: Overnight stay at a hotel in Chilas or Islamabad, depending on your travel route. Rest well after your long journey!
Islamabad
The final leg of your journey depends on the weather, as mountain flights are always subject to visibility.
✈️ Option A: The Scenic Flight
If the weather is clear, we will take the spectacular flight from Skardu to Islamabad. This is often described as one of the most beautiful flights in the world, offering a bird’s-eye view of Nanga Parbat and the endless peaks of the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges. Option B: The Karakoram Highway
If the flight is cancelled—a common occurrence in the mountains—we will begin the drive towards Chilas.
The Journey: We travel along the legendary Karakoram Highway (KKH), tracing the deep gorges of the Indus River.
The Experience: While longer, this drive is a classic adventure. You will witness the junction of three great mountain ranges: the Karakoram, the Himalaya, and the Hindu Kush.
We will spend the night in a hotel in Chilas to break up the long journey back.
Day 11: Relax in Islamabad or complete the drive from Chilas. A final day to explore the capital or rest after the long journey.

The Journey Home
As your plane takes off, keep an eye out the window for one last glimpse of the snow-capped Himalayas and the winding Karakoram Highway below. Whether you are heading back to Europe, the Americas, or elsewhere, you carry with you the hospitality of the Balti people and the spirit of the high mountains.
