Venture into the Peruvian highlands for 2 days of beautiful views, calming waters, and charming local culture. From the volcanic slopes of Chachani to elegant colonial churches, the green-coated ridges of Colca Canyon offer a look at the countryside's beauty and splendour.

Day 1: Head to the spectacular Colca Canyon and climb the slopes of the Chachani volcano, which afford breathtaking views of the Misti and Pikchu Pikchu volcanoes. Cross the Pampa Cañahuas Vicuna Reserve and get a look at packs of vicuñas grazing freely in the highlands.

Typical villages appear along way, providing a glimpse of life in this region. Reach the town of Chivay, where the group stops for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the lodge or visiting the hot spring pools in the surrounding area.

Day 2: Rise early and head for the Condor Cross viewpoint and watch for condors, huge endangered birds that are symbolic of the Andes Mountains. Get a magnificent full view of the size of the canyon, considered as one of the deepest in the world.

Next, visit the villages of Maca (Achoma) and Yanque, which feature elegantly preserved colonial churches. Enjoy lunch before heading back to Arequipa.
