The day concludes by reaching Douz. This town is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Sahara." Optional Sahara Activities: Upon arrival, travellers usually have the option (at an extra cost) to take a camel ride or a quad bike excursion into the nearby sand dunes to experience the Saharan sunset.
