Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Terelj National Park & Chinggis Khaan Statue (B/L/D)
Travel to Terelj National Park, stopping en route at the towering Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue, the largest equestrian statue in the world. In the park, marvel at Turtle Rock and hike to the Aryabal Meditation Temple. Optional activities include horse riding and dog sledding. Overnight in a traditional ger camp. (110km 3 hours)
Day 2: Khustai National Park (B/L/D)
Head to Khustai National Park, home to the wild Takhi horses. Hike through the park to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Overnight at Hustai resort. (180km, 4hours)
Day 3: Elsen Tasarkhai Semi-Sand Dunes & Kharkhorin (B/L/D)
Journey to Elsen Tasarkhai, where frozen sand dunes meet snow-covered terrain. Take a camel ride and explore the area’s unique landscapes. Continue to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit the historic Erdene Zuu Monastery and explore its fascinating architecture. Overnight in a local hotel. (300km 5hours)
Day 4: Return to Ulaanbaatar via Ugii lake (B/L)
Drive to Ugii frozen lake, ice fishing lake for locals and return Ulaanbaatar. (430km, 7hours)
