Shanti Stupa – A beautiful white-domed stupa offering panoramic views of Leh The Shanti Stupa in Leh, Ladakh, is a magnificent white-domed Buddhist monument built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura to promote world peace and commemorate 2,500 years of Buddhism. The Sangam in Leh is the spectacular, scenic confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers located near Nimmu village, about 35 km from Leh on the Leh-Srinagar highway. It is a top tourist spot where the muddy-green Zanskar River meets the clear blue Indus River. Key activities include river rafting, photography, and visiting during winter to see the rivers frozen

Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill – The legendary hill where vehicles appear to defy gravity. Gurdwara Pathar Sahib

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib – Built in 1517 to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s visit to Ladakh. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is a revered Sikh shrine located 25 km from Leh on the Leh-Kargil road, situated at an altitude of 12,000 feet. Built in 1517, it commemorates the visit of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, to Ladakh. The shrine is maintained by the Indian Army and is famous for a large, sacred boulder (pathar) that holds the, legendarily, body-shaped impression of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and a demon's footprint.

Spituk Monastery

Spituk Monastery – Famous for its ancient architecture and the temple of Goddess Kali Mata. Spituk Monastery, founded in the 11th century by Od-de and located 8 km from Leh, is a prominent Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) institution in Ladakh, home to roughly 100 monks. Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Indus River, it is famous for its panoramic views, ancient masks, Thangka paintings, and the annual Spituk Gustor Festival.

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley (The Valley of Flowers) via Khardung La Pass (18,300 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Descend towards Hunder, famous for its rolling sand dunes and Bactrian (double-humped) camels. You may also enjoy a camel safari (at own cost). Dinner and overnight stay at Nubra Valley.

Khardung La (Pass by)

Khardung La Pass (18,300 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Khardung La, located ~40 km from Leh at 17,582–18,379 ft, is a world-renowned, high-altitude motorable pass serving as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys. Open year-round (best May–Sept), it offers breathtaking Himalayan views and connects to the historic Silk Route. Key requirements include an Inner Line Permit (ILP), careful 24-hour acclimatisation in Leh, and precautions for thin air and harsh weather.

Diskit Gompa

Diskit Gompa, located in Ladakh’s Nubra Valley near Leh, is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the region, founded in the 14th century by Changzem Tserab Zangpo. It belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect and is famous for its 106-foot Maitreya Buddha statue, which was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 2010.

Hunder Sand Dunes
