The Maspalomas Dunes nature reserve offers an unforgettable experience – rolling sand dunes reminiscent of the Sahara desert, right on the ocean. The best way to enter the reserve is from the Mirador Las Dunas viewpoint, near the Riu Palace hotel. From there, you can continue along the main marked trail that runs along the edge of the dunes towards the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse. Alternatively, you can head towards the sea and then continue along the coast to the aforementioned lighthouse. In the dunes, only move along marked trails and paved paths, which serve to protect this unique environment and also help you with orientation.

Las Mujeres Beach

Las Mujeres Beach, also known as Playa de las Mujeres, is a quiet and secluded beach on the west coast of Gran Canaria, near the town of Mogán. While not as popular as other beaches on the island, it attracts visitors with its peaceful environment and natural beauty. Keep in mind that Las Mujeres beach is natural and secluded, with minimal services. Therefore, bring everything you need, such as food, water, and other necessities.

Fataga

On your way there or back, take a break in the village of Fataga. This picturesque village with traditional white houses is located in a beautiful valley. The winding road will take you through breathtaking scenery, where there are countless places to stop and admire the beautiful views.

Pico de las Nieves

Pico de las Nieves, at an altitude of 1,949 m, is the highest mountain on Gran Canaria. The ascent is undemanding, as a road leads all the way to the Mirador del Pico de los Pozos de la Nieve viewpoint, ending in a car park. For those who prefer a more active experience, a walk along the ridge is a great option. If you want to hike up the mountain, park in Llanos de la Pez, from where a marked trail leads through the forest, gently uphill. The path is well-maintained, mostly shaded by pine trees, and offers beautiful views even during the ascent. After approximately 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach the Mirador del Pico de los Pozos de la Nieve viewpoint, from where it is only a few steps to the summit itself.

Roque Bentayga

The imposing rock of Roque Bentayga rises majestically near the village of Tejeda. The climb to it is easy and measures less than 1 km. Park at the Roque Bentayga Parking area, where you will also find an information centre and toilets, and then explore this unique natural monument.

The hiking trail starts in the small mountain village of Tasartico, where you can park along the road. From there, head towards Playa del Asno and follow the signs "Gui-Gui beach trail". The trail leads over a saddle with views of the mountains and the ocean, then descends to the beach itself. This is a challenging hike suitable for experienced hikers, with a total length of approximately 15 km (return). It is recommended to arrive at the beach before 3 pm, when access is safe due to the tide. A more comfortable option is a boat trip from the port of Puerto Rico, which will take you directly to the beach. This will save you physical effort.
