What's included, what's not
- This experience gives you access to a unique dive into the history of photography through the wet collodion process, created in 1851. Upon arrival at the studio, you will be welcomed with a brief introduction to the technique, the large format camera, and the photographic laboratory. You will follow the entire process of creating an image: the preparation of the photosensitive plate, the pose in front of the camera, the shot, and finally, the development of the photograph in front of youāa magical and unforgettable moment. At the end, you will receive an original portrait made on a metal plate, entirely handmade and impossible to reproduce. All necessary materials, chemicals, and equipment are included, as well as expert guidance throughout the experience. No prior knowledge is required: all you need is curiosity and a desire to experience something artistic, cultural, and timeless.
What's included What's included - The experience does not include travel to the studio or return transport. Meals, drinks, or other services outside the scope of the activity are also not included. The digitization of the portrait is not included in the price of the experience. This service can be requested and performed directly at the studio, subject to availability and additional payment. Any special requests, such as additional portraits, extended sessions, or specific formats, can be arranged and quoted separately.

What you can expect
Imagine travelling back in time and experiencing photography as it was done over 170 years ago. In this experience, you'll dive into the fascinating world of wet collodion, a photographic process from 1851 that turns light and chemistry into unique portraits, developed right in front of you on metal plates.
When you arrive at my studio, you'll be welcomed into a space that blends tradition and creativity. Before we start, I'll share with you the history of this pioneering technique, which revolutionized photography in the 19th century and still enchants artists and collectors around the world today. You'll learn about large-format cameras, the chemistry, and the secrets behind a process that takes time, care, and sensitivity.
Then, we'll get hands-on: I'll prepare the photographic plate with collodion and silver salts, making it sensitive to light. You'll be invited to stand in front of the camera, in a simple but carefully lit setting. The moment of the shot is special: in a split second, the light records your image directly on the plate.
But the real magic happens next. Following each step, you'll see your image take shape as the plate is developed in the lab. It's an almost alchemical experience: suddenly see the portrait appear before your eyes, as if it were a secret revealed by the light.
At the end, you'll take your original portrait in wet collodion with you ā a handmade, unique, and timeless piece that's impossible to reproduce.
More than a photo shoot, this is a journey through time, an immersive experience where you become an active part of a historical process. You're not just being photographed: you're participating in a centuries-old tradition, feeling the slower cadence of analogue photography, and leaving with the memory of having experienced something truly authentic.
