What you can expect
The Api Base Camp Trek is a fixed 12 Nights / 13 Days guided trekking journey in Far-West Nepal, exploring the remote Himalayan region of the Api Nampa Conservation Area. The route gradually ascends from low river valleys and traditional villages into dense forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude terrain beneath the peak of Api Himal.
The trek begins with a long drive into the Far-West region, followed by daily walking stages of 3–8 hours through terraced fields, forest trails, riverside paths, and mountain villages. As the altitude increases, the landscape shifts to rugged alpine scenery with glaciers, snow peaks, and wide Himalayan views.
A dedicated acclimatisation day includes short hikes of 2–3 hours to support altitude adjustment. The highlight of the journey is the ascent to Api Base Camp, reached after a full trekking day of 6–8 hours, offering panoramic mountain views and a close-up experience of the glacier environment.
The return follows the same route in reverse, descending gradually back to lower villages before a final drive completes the journey.
All essential services for the 12 Nights / 13 Days trek are included in the package cost, including permits, accommodation, meals during trekking days, guide support, and transport between arrival and trailhead.
