Be seduced by the aromas, music, and rustic charm of Tarija in an experience designed for true lovers of wine and living culture. The Coplera de Méndez Wine Route is not a typical sightseeing tour; it's a journey to the heart of the region's most traditional and authentic wine production.
Our adventure begins in the morning with a visit to three of the wineries with the greatest local identity: Bodega La Buena Tierra, Bodega Los Corceles de Méndez, and Bodega Don Victorino. Here you won't see large-scale industrial processes, but rather the love and family secrets passed down from generation to generation to create unique wines.
Throughout the day, your senses will be the stars of the show. Guided by the producers themselves, you will tour underground cellars full of history, the mystical Sala de la Tradición, and the Bodegón de los Monjes. You'll enjoy the exclusive experience of tasting wine directly from the fermentation tanks and actively participate in the artisanal process, corking and labelling your own bottle with your hands.
The tasting is a journey in itself. Get ready to taste a huge variety of exclusive drinks: from the iconic artisanal Singani and fine liqueurs such as Ratafía and Coñac to selected varieties of Moscatel de Alejandría, Barbera, and Syrah. You'll also discover the mysticism of “Vino Mellicero” and the traditional Chapaco food tasting in Yambuy.
To top off the day, we will share a Creole lunch with the authentic Chapaco flavour, prepared over the fire of a traditional wood-burning stove. All this will take place in a cultural courtyard full of life, where traditional music and local songs will make you feel part of the community. Before heading back, you'll have some free time to purchase your favourite products directly from the hands of those who created them.
