What you can expect

  • Dive into the history of Alburquerque with a unique guided tour that winds through its medieval streets and culminates at the Castillo de Luna, one of Extremadura's best-preserved fortresses. The experience begins at the Monument to the Medieval Knight, where you'll get an introduction to the town's history and origins.

The tour continues through the historic centre, exploring walls, squares, and defensive elements while your guide explains Albuquerque's strategic role as a border town. You'll enjoy stories about the most important historical figures and curiosities that left their mark on the town.

Next, you'll head up to the Castillo de Luna to discover its interior: you'll tour the walls, towers, and courtyards, and enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. During the visit, you'll hear legends, stories, and anecdotes that make this castle a must-see.

The tour ends at the Castillo de Luna, after a day full of history, heritage, and tradition.
