What you can expect

First, you will be picked up from your hotel in Alexandria
You will first visit the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa, which is the largest Roman Cemetery and consists of three levels cut into rock. You will also drive by Pompay’s Pillar, where you will stop for a photo break. Your next stop will be to the library of Alexandria, which is the biggest library in the world, consisting of 8 million books. You can visit its open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. You will visit president Saddat Museum, and impressions of Alexandria Museum inside the library.
Note: Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and on every public holiday.

The car will then take you to visit the church of St. Mark, the oldest church in Africa. Through your drive you will see the old city centre and the local historical architecture which has Baroque-style designs and Italian and French-style properties. Then the Excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheatre Ruins: We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheatre Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that it’s not allowed to visit inside these excavation sites but will enjoy an external view.
(Optional lunch stop at a modern Fish Restaurant). Visit Montazah Royal Palaces Gardens, The Royal Gardens of King Farouk, the last king in Egypt's history, and pause for a photo of King Farouk's royal palace, as well as the royal beaches of the queens.

You will also visit Abbo Elabbas Mosque, the prettiest and biggest mosque in the city: the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, and the strangest sight outside it: an old funfair where children play on very antique funfair rides and eat sweets floss. Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. You will then continue to see the outside of Qaitbay Castle, which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
