Be amazed by the imposing fortifications of the city wall, and see the only surviving entrance gate, built in 369 BC. Follow the same paths walked by Epaminondas, the famous general from Ancient Thiva who founded Ancient Messene on the ruins of Ancient Ithomi after it was sacked by the Spartans.
