What you can expect

Embark on our private 'Paradise Islands' tour and discover the magic of Angra dos Reis! Sail through crystal-clear waters and stunning landscapes, visiting 4 of the region's jewels: the Botinas Islands, a vibrant natural aquarium; Jurubaíba Beach (or Dentist's Beach), with calm waters and white sands; Flechas Beach, with its exuberant scenery; and Ponta da Piedade, a historic landmark of singular beauty.

BOTINAS ISLANDS: the islands are to Angra as Christ the Redeemer is to Rio de Janeiro! Our best-known postcard. Their formation resembles two boots when seen from above, which is why they were so named. The sea current that surrounds them means that the sea around them is always clear and there are lots of little “Sargentinho” fish. Because of their beauty, visitors who know how to swim can hardly resist taking a dip. Have some bread left over from breakfast? Put it in your bag, the little fish will love it.

PRAIA DE JURUBAÍBA: The beach is also known as Praia do Dentista (Dentist's Beach), which is how it became famous in the early 1990s because it is home to a single house, that of former president Collor's dentist, Mr. Olímpio Faissol. It's a lovely beach with white sands and calm seas, perfect for little visitors to enjoy.

As it is very sheltered, it is a meeting point for speedboats of all sizes, and usually at weekends, the “ballads” that take place there are famous. Affectionately known as “Juruba” by the Angrenses, legend has it that it is home to the region's “sunroof”, as the blue sky is usually guaranteed there.

PRAIA DAS FLECHAS: Praia das Flechas, the generous vegetation around it makes the emerald green of the Atlantic Forest reflect in the sea that bathes this beach. The site of Gipóia's first restaurant, the very traditional Bar do Luiz, its sands make it easy to take a post-lunch walk without losing sight of the imposing Ilha Grande and the coming and going of the speedboats that circulate around our bay.

PONTA DA PIEDADE: Located right on the “edge of town”, another name by which it is also known, it is home to the charming Church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, dating from the 20th century, which hosts weddings for the islanders of Gipóia. At low tide, a small strip of sand connects the beach to Ilha da Piedade, famous for being home to Angra's first Ilha de Caras.

Its calm waters make for a very relaxing swim, with picturesque scenery! Angra dos Reis is a destination that has retained its allure over the decades. It gained international renown in the 1980s, when it was chosen as the setting for Brazilian soap operas. Even with the passage of time, the bay of Angra continues to attract visitors irresistibly.
