At the chosen time, you will meet the tour guide at the Museum's front desk. After picking up the tickets, we will begin with an introduction in the museum, then we will enter the mortuary galleries of the Menga and Viera dolmens. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, each person will go on their own to the Plaza del Coso Viejo, where we'll continue with the tour of the historic city centre.
Discover the largest dolmen in Europe and venture into the burial galleries of the Menga and Viera dolmens. A necropolis over 6,000 years old. You'll be fascinated to learn the history of our ancestors and why they decided to build this megalithic monument here.
We continue on to Plaza del Coso Viejo, next to the Equestrian sculpture. We'll gradually uncover the secrets of Antequera as we head towards Plaza de San Sebastián, the central point of the roads of Andalusia. Inside the church, we can admire its beautiful details and learn about its history. We'll head to the upper city, where from its vantage points we'll see how the churches stand out among whitewashed houses, historical sights, and picturesque narrow streets. We'll pass through the Arch of the Giants to the Alcazaba. In this area, we'll also have the opportunity to see the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa Maria la Mayor and the Roman baths. Finally, we'll descend the castle walls to the Convent of the Descalzas, and end the tour back at the Coso Viejo.
