Discover Tuscany on horseback with a beginner-friendly riding experience near Arezzo at La Fogliarina riding school. Designed for first-timers and led by qualified staff, this calm outdoor activity combines a practical introduction with a scenic ride through the countryside—perfect if you want an authentic taste of rural Tuscany without needing prior experience.
Your experience begins with an approximately 30-minute briefing in which your instructor explains the essentials: how to mount safely, correct riding position, and how to communicate with your horse. You’ll also cover the basic gaits so you feel confident and comfortable before heading out. Helmets are provided, and a back protector is available (compulsory for participants under 18).
After preparation, set off on a guided ride of around 1 hour along a countryside route that weaves through vineyards, olive groves, and forest paths. Along the way, you’ll reach the small medieval village of Oliveto, located close to the riding school, before looping back to the starting point.
With a small group size and horses accustomed to working with beginners, the pace is relaxed and supportive throughout. Return with new skills, fresh air in your lungs, and unforgettable views of the Tuscan landscape.
