The Athens Half-Day Tour starts with the hill of Acropolis which is the highlight of the tour. On the historical hill you will have the opportunity to look upon the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of the Athena Nike, the monumental gateway (Propylaea), the Erechtheum and of course the Parthenon, the main temple built for the virgin Goddess, Athena.
Going on you will head towards the Temple of Zeus finding Hadrian’s Arch on the way and after that, you will visit the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.
Next driving by the side of the National Garden you will witness the changing of the guard (Evzones) just in front of the old palace. Today the building is Parliament House, just above the central square of Athens.
Afterwards you will drive down Panepistimiou Street, one of the most historical streets of Athens to see numerous 19th century, neoclassical buildings but more importantly, you will see the architectural trilogy of Athens (The Academy – The University – The National Library).
Next moving into the historical centre of the city, you will admire the best panoramic view of the city from the highest hill of Athens, Lycabettus Hill.
Your last destination will be the New Museum of Acropolis or be walking around in the picturesque neighbourhood of Plaka instead.
We assure you that after your Athens half-day tour, you will have had a real taste of Athens.
