What you can expect

  • Visit Hobbiton Film Set and Te Puia in one day from Auckland. Your Cheeky Kiwi guide is with you all day, from pickup to drop-off. Travel south through the green farmland of the Waikato in a small group of no more than 15 people.

    At Hobbiton, a Hobbiton guide leads you on a 2.5-hour tour of the 12-acre film set. See 44 hobbit holes, the gardens and the Mill, hear how The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films were made, and enjoy a complimentary drink at The Green Dragon Inn. Then pass through Tīrau, a small town known for its corrugated iron sculptures.
