What you can expect

Itinerary
At 9:30 a.m. we will meet at the main square of Ayacucho and head north.

In half an hour we will be at the Wari Archaeological Complex. There we will find the remains of the first Andean civilisation that developed between the 7th and 13th centuries. We will walk through the Museum of the Site where we will discover multiple pieces of the excavations of the complex. In addition, we will visit the Templo Mayor, what remains of the millenary city of Wari and the subway galleries that served as tombs.

The visit will continue in Quinua, a town in the department of Ayacucho that stands out for its handicrafts. The town's pottery tradition is a reflection of the cosmovision of the Wari culture. Figures of musicians, llamas, cockerels? Lots of ceramics linked to the Peruvian culture.

One kilometre from Quinua is the Historical Sanctuary of the Pampa de Ayacucho. Let's visit it! In this strategic point took place the Battle of Ayacucho that meant the end of the Spanish domination in Latin America. A very important place for the history of the continent. If you want, you can take a horseback ride through the Pampa de Ayacucho, an unforgettable experience!

At 14:30 we will be back in Ayacucho after a very complete day.
