In Ayacucho, the amazing Millpu Pools await you with more than 20 pools that meander through a narrow gorge. The distinctive turquoise colour of its waters is the result of the interaction between sunlight and minerals carried by the river. The itinerary starts early, with the meeting at 8:00 am in the main square of Huamanga, Ayacucho. After approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, we will make a stop at Condorccocha, where you can enjoy a breakfast of your choice: chicken broth, lamb, mates, sandwiches and more options. Then, we will continue to Circamarca, from where we will begin an uphill hike of about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Accompanied by our local guide, we will reach the impressive natural viewpoint of Millpu, which offers panoramic views of all the pools along the river. Although visitors can descend to the banks of the river, it is not permitted to enter the pools due to regulations to protect and conserve this unique ecosystem. After the exploration, we will return to Circamarca to enjoy a hearty lunch, highlighting dishes prepared with fresh trout, as this region is known for its fish farming.
Return to the city is scheduled around 7:30 p.m., allowing you to enjoy a full day of natural wonders and local gastronomy in the Ayacucho region.
