Begin your tour at Baileys Harbour Marina and head north to the majestic Cana Island Lighthouse. Along the way, pass by the expansive nature preserve of Toft’s Point in Moonlight Bay and the site of a former fishing village at Bues Point. Once at Cana Island, learn about the history of this iconic lighthouse and, if conditions are clear, catch a glimpse of an unidentified shipwreck.

Continue to the far side of Baileys Harbour to see the Old Baileys Harbour Birdcage Lighthouse, one of the lesser-known lighthouses in Door County. Several shipwrecks also rest in less than 10 feet of water near the lighthouse, such as Christina Nilsson, Fairfield, Josephine Lawrence, and the Joseph Cochrane. Many of these shipwrecks sank in the 1800s and pieces of them can be viewed from the boat. These wrecks have been well preserved in the cold fresh waters of Lake Michigan and offer a window to what life would have been like when Baileys Harbour was first established in 1850.
