What you can expect

Yoga Lokanata is a form of complementary healing rooted in Balinese cultural wisdom and yogic tradition. This method integrates eight natural healing principles, also referred to as the Eight Natural Remedies (Doa). These principles are structured using the acronym “NEW START”, which represents a holistic lifestyle approach to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

N = Nutrition
You are guided to consume only foods that are clean, fresh, and aligned with the satwika (sattvic) principle—foods that nourish not just the body but also the mind and soul.
E = Exercise
You are encouraged to move your body at least 15 minutes a day, in a joyful and conscious manner. In Balinese philosophy, this inner refinement is called “Solah”—the graceful way one carries themselves. You will also be guided through a special yoga flow that blends postures, breathwork, mudras (symbolic hand gestures), and sacred Balinese-inspired dance, designed to harmonise body and mind, awaken inner awareness, and restore energetic alignment.
W = Water
Water is life, and in Yoga Lokanata, it is treated as a powerful cleansing and energetic medium. You are advised to drink 2–3 litres of clean water daily, adjusted to your activity level and needs. You will also get to experience the process of making traditional Balinese herbal drinks (jamu)—and take home your own handmade remedy.
S = Sunshine
Get 15 minutes of morning sunlight before 10:00 AM daily. Sunlight provides natural energy, strengthens immunity, and helps regulate biological rhythms.
T = Temperance
Temperance is the art of emotional regulation and self-control. You’ll learn how to observe, feel, and process emotions with awareness—what Balinese call olah rasa.
A = Air
Air represents life force (prana). You will be trained in breath control techniques (pranayama) to regulate and extend the breath. Slow, deep, and conscious breathing helps balance the nervous system, reduce stress, and enhance clarity of mind. Learning to breathe fully is learning to live fully.
R = Rest
Adequate rest is essential. You’ll learn proper sleep hygiene and explore Yoga Nidra, a guided deep relaxation practice. Sleep becomes a tool for healing.
T = Trust in God
In Yoga Lokanata, this trust nurtures resilience, gives meaning to suffering, and strengthens the healing process. It is the essence of the yogic journey. You will also take part in a sacred purification ritual using water—an immersive experience to cleanse emotional blockages, restore inner stillness, and reconnect with your truest self through the healing power of nature.

A Holistic Path of Healing and Harmony
The NEW START approach in Yoga Lokanata is more than a health protocol—it is a way of life. It honours the wisdom of the body, the power of nature, and the deep spirituality of Balinese culture. By practising these eight natural remedies, you are invited to return to your true nature—whole, balanced, and alive.
