Departing from Barreirinhas at 2:00 PM in a comfortable and powerful Toyota 4x4, we’ll embark on a scenic off-road journey through the sandy backroads that lead deep into the dunes.
After approximately 50 minutes of driving, we arrive at the foot of a towering dune — the gateway to a surreal landscape. From here, we continue on foot, climbing a wooden staircase that leads us to the breathtaking highlands of the park. As you reach the top, you’ll be welcomed by endless waves of white sand dunes and sparkling freshwater lagoons — a landscape that feels almost otherworldly.
This guided experience takes you to a selection of the park’s most beautiful lagoons, including the iconic Lagoa Bonita, whose name (“Beautiful Lagoon”) is well-deserved. Its crystalline waters surrounded by soft, undulating dunes create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a refreshing swim or quiet contemplation. We’ll also explore Lagoa do Clone, made famous by television and film for its cinematic setting, and visit the tranquil Lagoa do Massarico and peaceful Lagoa do Descanso, each offering their own unique charm and pristine beauty.

As the day draws to a close, we gather at a privileged spot to witness the sunset over the dunes — a dramatic display of light and colour that bathes the landscape in golden hues. Watching the sun dip below the horizon in this vast, silent expanse is nothing short of magical.
Around 7:00 PM, we begin our return to Barreirinhas, with unforgettable images in our minds and sand still clinging to our feet — a beautiful reminder of a day spent immersed in one of Brazil’s most astonishing natural wonders.
