Activity itinerary

Hammersmith
  • 1h
Hammersmith Odeon (now Eventim Apollo) is a 3,500-seat West London landmark that’s hosted Bowie’s Ziggy farewell, Kate Bush’s comeback, Queen’s New Year’s Eve show, Springsteen’s first UK gig and more. The Beatles filmed part of A Hard Day’s Night here in 1964 and played raucous Christmas shows, often inaudible over screaming fans. Their last British concert here was in 1965. Paul McCartney later returned for 1979’s Rock for Kampuchea benefit, cementing the venue’s place in music history.
Kew Bridge
  • 1h
Walk the same Thames towpath near Kew Gardens where Ringo filmed his A Hard Day’s Night “day off” sequence. Stand where he tried to take a selfie, see the stretch where the runaway tyre bowled him over and imagine the truant boy running past. Your guide points out filming angles, fan barricade spots and little-known anecdotes, bringing to life Ringo’s much-loved scene and the Beatles’ 1964 location shoot.
Twickenham
  • 1h
Step into Beatles film history on a tour of real Help! locations. See the row of houses where the band arrive in their black Rolls-Royce, still largely unchanged, and spot the manhole cover from Leo McKern’s comic entrance. Pop inside the pub, where Ringo disrupted bar games and where the band held their wrap party – Beatles memorabilia and the original saloon door remain. Stand at the street corner where the moving red post box tried to steal Ringo’s ring and your guide pinpoints the exact filming spot. Visit Twickenham Film Studios, the site of A Hard Day’s Night, Help! promos, Hey Jude and Revolution shoots, and the 1969 “Get Back” sessions made famous again by Peter Jackson’s documentary. Along the way you’ll hear the stories behind the scenes, see unchanged backdrops and discover how these ordinary streets became extraordinary pieces of Beatles legend.
Chiswick
  • 1h
Stand in the very spots where Paperback Writer and Rain were filmed. The Grade I conservatory, the statue garden and the giant cedar tree, all still recognisable today. Hear stories of Paul’s chipped tooth, schoolchildren peeking through gates and John hiding in the potting shed. Then stroll to the historic riverside pub from Help! to see where the pipe-band ambush location and Ringo’s “two lagers and lime” moment. Inside, enjoy the same cosy saloon where the Beatles celebrated after filming. With an expert guide revealing hidden details and showing you exact camera angles, this tour lets you relive their most playful and colourful filming days. If you’ve ever wanted to step inside a Beatles video, this is your chance to walk where the Fab Four actually stood.
