✨ Discover Mechelen on a guided visit full of history and charm
At the appointed time, we'll meet in the heart of the city, the Grote Markt, next to the statue of Margaret of Austria, to begin this fascinating guided visit of one of the most beautiful cities in Belgium
After admiring the elegant buildings of this iconic square, we'll head to St. Rumold's Cathedral, where authentic jewels of sacred art await us, with works by great masters such as Van Dyck and Coxcie ️. We'll continue to St. John's Church, home to Rubens' stunning Adoration of the Magi.
We'll continue our walk past the Busleyden Museum, a magnificent example of the Flemish Renaissance ️, and arrive at the Palace of Margaret of Austria, where we'll learn about the fascinating history of this influential figure and her relationship with Emperor Charles V.
On the way back to the Grote Markt, we'll visit the courtyard of Mechelen City Hall and enter the charming Beguinage area, discovering who the Beguines were and admiring the spectacular baroque façade of its church ⛪.
To round it all off, after a two-hour tour, we'll end the visit at the historic Het Anker brewery, where the famous Gouden Carolus is brewed, a beer worthy of emperors.
