Many interactive installations offer extraordinary insights into the fascinating universe of the legendary Samurai, mysterious Ninja and and the mystical Yōkai. Projections and touchscreens guide visitors immersive through the exhibition.
Experience a holographic drum performance, a tea ceremony, learn the techniques of the ninja or explore the production of legendary sword blades.

Highlights: Nō theatre and tea house
The spacious Nō theatre and the tea house were built in Japan with traditional materials and techniques, and subsequently erected in Berlin.
These impressive constructions offer an insight into the long-lasting cultural influences of the samurai on the traditions of Japan through realisitc projections.
The tea house offers visitors the opportunity to gain an insight into the processes of the centuries old tea ceremony.

The Peter Janssen Collection - one of the world's largest private collections of the Samurai culture: What began with a find at a flea market in Berlin, has now grown into a private collection of more than 4,000 (!) objects that is unique worldwide in terms of quality, variets and scope.
The pieces date from the late Kofun to the early Meiji period (6th - 19th century) and offer a fascinating insights into the development of Japanese culture and craftsmanship. Highlights of the collection are an 18th-century palanquin, a 17th-century armour of the Matsudaira clan and tea utensils from the time of Sen no Rikyū (1522–1591).

Berlin-Mitte is the beating heart of the city and is home to many of its most famous landmarks, such as the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island and Alexanderplatz. The Samurai Museum is enthroned in the midst of this lively backdrop and attracts art and history lovers and adventurous families alike.
