Discovering the French Basque Country from Bilbao is a must for travellers who wish to fully understand the shared identity on both sides of the border. Taking part in a guided excursion along the French coast from Bilbao allows you to experience its history, landscapes, and culture in a complete and enriching way.

This tour to France begins early in the morning with departure from the city, accompanied by a bilingual local guide, heading to Bayonne. There, you will enjoy a guided visit through the historic old town, along the banks of the Nive River, and to its Gothic cathedral, uncovering the city’s medieval past, festive traditions, and the legacy of the Bayonne corsairs.

The route continues to Biarritz, one of the most iconic destinations in the French Basque Country, blending Atlantic elegance with surf culture. You will take a guided tour of landmark sites such as the Rocher de la Vierge and the Grande Plage, followed by free time for lunch (lunch is not included).

In the mid-afternoon, the tour returns to Spain with a stop in San Sebastian, where you will explore the historic centre and La Concha Bay, gaining insight into the city’s gastronomic heritage, pintxos culture, and its role as a reference point on the Cantabrian coast.

This full-day excursion, with transport included and an expert bilingual guide (English and Spanish), is ideal for those seeking a cultural tour from Bilbao that combines the French coast, historic cities, and the true essence of the French Basque Country in a single day.
