Overview

Explore the Blue Mountains with Three Sisters views, rainforest trails and a Blue Wander kit of water and Aussie snacks.

Your guide briefs you on the route and walks with you to the Giant Stairway handover point. Enjoy approximately 3 hours of self-guided hiking down the Giant Stairway and along Federal Pass towards the valley-floor area below Scenic World, returning the same way to Echo Point. The guide does not accompany the valley hike. Steep steps and the strenuous uphill return suit fit, confident walkers.

Transport may be shared with Scenic World guests. Hiking guests skip the rides and Katoomba town lunch stop. Rejoin the group for Katoomba Cascades, Cahill's Lookout and Leura, with free time to buy lunch. Rides and lunch are not included. Times and visit order vary; your guide confirms the meeting point and return time on the day.

Darling Harbour (Pass by)

Catch a glimpse of the vibrant Darling Harbour precinct as we depart central Sydney. Enjoy the beautiful waterfront views and modern architecture from the comfort of your seat as we begin our journey towards the rugged Blue Mountains.

Sydney Fish Market (Pass by)

As we head west out of the city, we will pass by the iconic Sydney Fish Market. Enjoy views of the bustling Blackwattle Bay from the vehicle before we merge onto the highway towards the majestic Blue Mountains.

Anzac Bridge (Pass by)

Enjoy a scenic drive over the impressive Anzac Bridge, Sydney's longest cable-stayed bridge. Take in the sweeping views of the harbour and city skyline from the vehicle as we leave the city behind and set our course for the mountains.

Blue Mountains National Park Glenbrook (Pass by)

Pass through Glenbrook, the historic eastern gateway to the Blue Mountains. As the vehicle begins its ascent along the mountain ridge, watch the landscape dramatically change from city suburbs to thick, rugged eucalyptus forests. Welcome to the wilderness!

Echo Point Lookout

Arrive at the spectacular Echo Point Lookout, the most famous vantage point in the Blue Mountains. Enjoy plenty of time to marvel at the iconic Three Sisters rock formation towering over the Jamison Valley. Snap incredible photos, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and hear the fascinating Aboriginal legends of the area before we continue our journey.

The Giant Stairway

Your guide explains the route and return arrangements, then accompanies you to the Giant Stairway handover point near the Three Sisters. Allow approximately 3 hours for the self-guided valley hike. Actual timing varies with the day's arrangements; your guide will confirm the Echo Point meeting point and return time on the day. Descend the Giant Stairway and follow Federal Pass towards the valley-floor area below Scenic World, then retrace your route and climb back to Echo Point. Allow enough time for the uphill return and be back at the agreed time to rejoin the group for the rest of the day. Your guide does not accompany the valley hike. This strenuous walk includes steep steps and an uphill return and is suitable for fit, confident walkers. Scenic World rides are not included. This route does not use Furber Steps.

Katoomba Cascades

This sightseeing stop is included for hiking guests as part of the shared Blue Mountains itinerary. Stop duration and visit order may vary with the day's arrangements.
