What you can expect

  • We will meet at the valley station of the chairlift in Boppard. During the leisurely ride up to the Hirschkopf, we enjoy fantastic views of the Rhine, the largest bend in the Rhine, the towns on the other side of the Rhine, and the rock passage below us. After a short walk, we reach the Gedeonseck. After the photo stop, we continue hiking along the edge of the slope with a view of the Rhine to the Vierseenblick, a unique vantage point (let yourself be surprised!). We continue on to the Engelseiche along paths that are sometimes narrow, with magnificent views of the forests of the Hunsrück. On a mostly wide path, we will enjoy the shade and coolness of the forest. We pass the Jakobsberger Hof and follow the path downhill. Suddenly the forest ends and we are standing up in the vineyards of the Bopparder Hamm. We reach the Mandelsteinhütte on a paved road. Here we have time to enjoy the great view. I will supplement your packed lunch with a glass of wine from the Hamm or grape juice. After the refreshment, we continue downhill to the Peternacher Tal and the B9.
A public bus will take us back to Boppard.
The total hiking distance is approximately 7 km with 100 metres of elevation gain.
