What you can expect

Begin your day at Borjomi Central Park, a beautiful mineral water park famous as the site where the original Borjomi spring was discovered. Walk through the peaceful, wooded valley, with paths alongside the river, places to taste water from natural springs, and seasonal attractions like cafés and small rides.

Find taps where mineral water flows freely for visitors to fill bottles. The most iconic spring in Borjomi is historically called Ekaterina (Yekaterinsky) Spring, located near the entrance to the park with taps to fill bottles. Walking up through the wooded valley from the town centre through the park is a scenic way to explore and experience the mineral water sources.

Next, head to the Borjomi Mineral Water (hot spring), the mineral water fountain/spring spot near the park where you can taste the world-renowned Borjomi mineral water straight from the source. The water here is naturally carbonated and believed to have health benefits.

Then, take a short drive from Borjomi to Mtsvane Monastery for a peaceful cultural experience among historic Georgian ecclesiastical architecture. Also known as the Green Monastery, this 9th-century active monastery is located about 8 km from Borjomi in the village of Chitakhevi. It gets its name (“mtsvane” means green in Georgian) from the green stones used in construction and the lush valley setting.
