Ballard Locks Visitor Center / Museum & Gift Shop

The Ballard Locks are a favourite of visitors and locals alike. Built in 1911, the locks bring boats between the salt water of the Puget Sound and the fresh water of Lake Union and Lake Washington. The Park also is home to a salmon ladder with an attached observation room that helps our local populations of salmon return to their native spawning grounds. Keep an eye out for Seals and Sea Lions!
