The trip begins in style at the famous Playa de los Muertos, a paradise whose name comes from the old currents that washed the remains of shipwrecks to its shore. From there, we'll look up at the Mesa Roldán Lighthouse, located on an impressive volcanic dome. It's one of the tallest lighthouses in Spain and an icon that has served as a setting for series such as Game of Thrones.
Continuing south, we'll explore Cala Arena, where fossilised lava formations create “rock cathedrals” that reveal Almeria's volcanic past. Before entering the town, we'll stop in front of the Cargadero de Mineral, a jewel of industrial archaeology that tells us about the area's mining history, and then cross the Bay of Agua Amarga and its iconic white houses.
After leaving the town behind, the landscape becomes even wilder. We'll pass by Cala del Sol, a spot that's almost impossible to access by land, to reach the jewel in the crown: Cala de Enmedio. Here, the pure white fossil sand dunes contrast with the green of the Posidonia Oceanica, the plant that oxygenates our waters and keeps them so crystal clear.
We'll end our excursion in the vastness of Cala del Plomo, a setting of absolute peace and turquoise waters that provides the grand finale to our journey before making our way back to the cruise port.
Amidst stories of pirates, fascinating geology, and secrets of film shoots, we'll make strategic stops so you can jump into the water and experience the park from the inside.
