What you can expect

There is nothing more authentic than the scent of clay in a historic workshop. In this short but in-depth tour, I will open the doors of my workshop in Caltagirone to you. You won't just be watching: you'll discover the life cycle of a piece, from the shapeless block of clay to the decorated piece ready for the kiln. It is a journey through time among Mediterranean colours, centuries-old techniques, and the dedication that only a thousand-year-old tradition can pass on.

Approximately 10-15 minutes, tour of the crucial stages:

Shaping: You will see the clay being modelled by the master's hands.

Drying and First Firing: Explanation of the “biscuit” (the raw ceramic).

The Glazing: How the object is prepared to receive the colour.

Decoration: The magical moment of the brush and the typical colours (blue, yellow-orange, and Ramina green).
