Know before you book

What you can expect

Start your day with a hot bowl of “banh cuon” in bone broth. Then, walk to the central market with your guide. Receive an ingredient list and shop while interacting with local vendors.

Next, head to Hat De restaurant for a cooking class. Cook with the chef using the ingredients you just bought. Then, enjoy lunch made from your own dishes and relax at the restaurant.

After lunch, stroll the narrow lanes of the Old Quarter, admire the blend of old houses and French-colonial remnants, visit the sacred Old Quarter Pagoda, and pause on the bridge over the Bang Giang River to watch highland life.

Stop at a vintage café or one overlooking the Bang Giang River. Enjoy egg coffee, drip coffee, or herbal tea while the guide shares customs and legends of the Tay, Nung, and Dao peoples.

In the afternoon, leave the café and keep walking to sample famous highland snacks: crispy fried ap chao cakes, refreshing Thach An black jam, and fragrant roasted chestnuts.
