Day 1: Chengdu- Yingxiu Town - Wolong - Siguniang Mountain Town - Lama Temple - Dead Tree Beach - Muluozi Camp
Start your adventure in Chengdu.Depart from Chengdu and head to Siguniang Mountain Town. Start your hike from the northeast of Siguniang Mountain. Cross the Chazigouwei Pass at an altitude of 4,668 metres and finally reach Bipenggou in Li County at the northern foot of Siguniang Mountain.
Day 2: Muluozi - Shuidaba - Turtle Stone - Chazigouwei Camp
Continue your hike to Shuidaba, Turtle Stone, and Chazigouwei Camp.
Day 3: Chazigouwei Camp - Chazigouwei Pass - Shanghaizi Reception Station - Li County - Chengdu
Hike to the Chazigouwei Pass and then head to the Shanghaizi Reception Station. Finally, return to Chengdu.
Along the way, there is a combination of various alpine landscapes such as snow mountains, glaciers, forests, meadows, waterfalls, and lakes. From the virgin forests and red stone beaches in Changping Valley to the glaciers and snow peaks in Bipenggou, the scenery changes with each step, offering a high-level of visual enjoyment.
The Changping - Bipenggou Hiking Route is rich in historical and cultural connotations. Walking through the forest with lush ancient trees, you can seemingly feel the simplicity and charm of the “Tang Dynasty Cypress Ancient Road” thousands of years ago, experiencing the weight of history during the hike.
In mid-to-late October, both Changping Valley and Bipenggou are painted with the colours of autumn. Changping Valley is rich in vegetation, and forests like red birch and sea buckthorn change colours in the autumn wind. Bipenggou is ablaze with colourful foliage, making it an ideal time to admire the snow-capped mountains and colourful forests.
Climb from the 3,800-meter camp to the 4,668-meter Chazigouwei Pass, and enjoy the beautiful scenery from starlight and moonlight to the rising sun. Stand on the pass, with the sea of clouds stretching out and the magnificent mountains in sight, and feel a sense of grandeur.
