What you can expect

  • Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Chengdu and travel to the Wolong Panda Base. Upon arrival, meet your guide and receive a briefing on the day’s activities.

    Put on your work clothes and head to the panda enclosures. Under the guidance of a professional teacher, experience the daily work of a panda caretaker. Clean the enclosures, prepare bamboo, and observe behaviour training.

    Get up close to the pandas and learn about their behaviour, diet, and conservation efforts. Discover the differences between captive and wild pandas’ diets and gain first-hand knowledge of panda care.

    After your volunteer experience, receive a certificate from the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Centre, recognizing your contribution to the protection of China’s national treasure.
