Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata National Reserve
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado and travel by 4x4 to the banks of the Tambopata River. After a 2-hour journey, we'll change our vehicle for a boat that will take us to our accommodation where we'll spend the night.

Upon arriving at our destination, we'll leave our suitcases and recharge our batteries with a delicious lunch. During the evening, we'll go for a hike through the tropical rainforest located within the Tambopata National Reserve, where we'll be lucky enough to see the animals in their natural habitat.

After the hike, we'll return to our accommodation to eat and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Tambopata National Reserve – Puerto Maldonado
At first light, around 4:30 am, we'll leave the hotel in Tambopata and make our way towards the Chuncho collpa of parrots and macaws. To get there, we'll sail by boat for around 1.5 hours on an entertaining tour in which we'll be able to spot some of the famous animals, like capibaras, tapirs or jaguars.

Once at the collpa, we'll see hundreds of parrots of different species that go to the wall to eat the clay there. Discover the never-ending particularities of these animals! As well as this, we'll learn about the three species of the most colourful macaws in the Americas. It'll be an unforgettable experience.

After visiting the Chuncho collpa, we'll return to the hotel and have lunch. That evening, we'll go on another walk, this time around the botanical gardens of the reserve and learn all about the different species of fruit, timber and medicine in Tambopata.

Finally, we'll bid farewell to the reserve and make our way back to Puerto Maldonado, where the 2 or 3-day tour will end.

3-day tour
If you want to make your activity even better and spend one more night in the Tambopata National Reserve, it's recommended that you book the tour for 3 days. In this case, on the second day, after visiting the Chuncho collpa and the botanical gardens, we'll take part in a kayaking tour on the Tambopata River. With this, we'll have the chance to see some of the largest animals that live in the reserve.
