What you can expect

  • Begin your unforgettable Ella adventure with an early-morning pickup from your hotel in Colombo, Negombo, Kalutara, Kandy, Bentota, Ahungalla, Induruwa, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Unawatuna, Ahangama, Mirissa, Talpe, Weligama, Matara, Hiriketiya, Dikwella, Tangalle, or a nearby area. Travel in comfort in a private air-conditioned vehicle accompanied by a professional local driver-guide.

Relax as you journey from the coast or city towards Sri Lanka’s beautiful central highlands. Along the way, enjoy refreshment stops, scenic viewpoints, misty mountains, waterfalls, and endless tea plantations.

Your Ella experience begins with a memorable train journey along one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic railway routes. Travel through lush tea estates, cloud forests, mountain passes, and charming countryside while enjoying breathtaking views from the train.

After the train ride, visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, one of Sri Lanka’s most photographed landmarks. Surrounded by dense jungle and tea plantations, this magnificent colonial-era railway bridge provides a wonderful setting for sightseeing and photography.

Continue to Little Adam’s Peak and enjoy an optional short hike to the summit. The trail offers spectacular panoramic views across Ella Gap, rolling hills, valleys, and surrounding mountains. The walk is suitable for most active travellers and rewards you with some of Ella’s finest scenery.

Enjoy time in Ella town for lunch at a local restaurant, visit its popular cafés, or simply relax in the refreshing mountain atmosphere.

In the evening, visit a traditional tea factory and discover how Sri Lanka’s world-famous Ceylon tea is produced. Learn about the journey from freshly picked tea leaves to the finished product, observe the different processing stages, and enjoy an authentic tea-tasting experience.

After completing your Ella sightseeing tour, return to your original pickup location in your private vehicle. Alternatively, choose to finish the tour with drop-off at your hotel in Ella if you plan to stay overnight.

Please note: The train journey and tea factory visit are subject to operating times, ticket availability, and the selected pickup location.
