With over 50 5 star reviews on Google, you can be sure to enjoy your time with Conwy Walking Tours.
As a qualified and experienced guide born locally and lived in Conwy for over 40 years, I'll help you step back into Conwy’s storey on a guided walking tour through one of North Wales’ most atmospheric medieval towns. Stroll the historic streets and lanes and uncover the details you’d likely miss on your own—from defensive walls to remarkable homes that chart Conwy’s past.
We’ll meet outside the Conwy Tourist Information Office and set off at a relaxed pace through the town centre. Along the way, I'll point out key landmarks and hidden corners, sharing context about Conwy’s role on the North Wales coast and how the town evolved over the centuries.
From there, we’ll take a look at how and why the town was constructed, as well as the English-Welsh relationship at that time. As we journey on, we will take in popular attractions such as Plas Mawr: claimed as the best example of an Elizabethan mansion house in the United Kingdom.
Moving around the town, we will experience Aberconwy House: the oldest domestic dwelling in Wales, as well the smallest house in Great Britain. On our way to finish our tour at St Mary’s Church, we will take a visit to the famous bridges designed and constructed by the great Thomas Telford and Robert Stephenson. Of course, we will also pass by one of the most impressive medieval fortress built in the 13th century – Conwy Castle!
The tour ends back in town after about 90 minutes, leaving you perfectly placed to continue exploring Conwy independently, revisit your favourite sights, or head to a café for a well-earned break. Of course- there's also the local ales….
