Activity itinerary

La Moneda

  • 1h
We will start the tour by taking the metro to La Moneda, the iconic Government Palace of Chile. Here, we will discover its imposing neoclassical architecture, which has witnessed important moments in the country’s political history. During our stop at the Plaza de la Ciudadanía, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the palace and its surroundings. Then, we will immerse ourselves in the art and culture of La Moneda Cultural Centre, located just below the square. This modern space offers exhibits ranging from contemporary art to displays of the rich cultural heritage of Chile and Latin America. It is an opportunity to explore temporary exhibitions and permanent collections that highlight the artistic and historical heritage of the region. This stop not only provides an insight into Chile’s politics and history, but also its vibrant arts and cultural scene.

Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino

  • 1h

Our next stop will be the fascinating Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, a real treasure for history and art lovers. This museum houses an extraordinary collection of pieces that transport us to the ancient civilisations of Latin America, long before the arrival of Europeans. Here you can admire artefacts that reflect the cultural wealth and legacy of peoples such as the Incas, Maya, Aztec, Mapuche and other pre-Columbian civilisations. From ceramics, fabrics and sculptures to jewellery and ritual objects, the museum invites you to discover more than 5,000 years of history through its collection, carefully preserved and exhibited in a modern and didactic atmosphere. Each room is designed to showcase the diversity and depth of the cultures that inhabited the continent, connecting you with their art, beliefs and ways of life.

Plaza de Armas

Our last stop on foot will be the emblematic Plaza de Armas, the founding heart of Santiago. This space has witnessed the growth and development of the city since its founding in 1541. Here, surrounded by historic buildings, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the city, where artists, tourists and locals converge. In front of us stands the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral, an architectural gem of the neoclassical style that dominates the square. We can also see other historic buildings such as the Central Post and the National Historical Museum. The Plaza de Armas is the perfect place to close our tour, combining history and contemporary urban life.

National Museum of History

In the same Plaza de Armas, we will visit the National Historical Museum, located in the former Palace of the Royal Audience. Here, we will explore the history of Chile through its permanent collections spanning from pre-Hispanic times to the 20th century. The rooms of the museum will guide us through the key moments of the formation of the country, from colonial times, through independence, to the creation of the Republic. This museum is an essential stop for those who wish to better understand the events and characters that shaped Chile’s history. In addition, we can visit the museum’s Clock Tower, from which you get a unique view of the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings.
