Your guide and driver will take you to Agua de Gato, a small village in the S. Domingos valley to learn how to cook Katchupa, THE traditional Cape Verdean dish, immersed in a local family. During this adventure, you will have the chance to learn several processes, such as harvesting corn on the terrace to grind it, preparing vegetables and beans and collecting wood to light a fire. While the Katchupa is cooking, we will take the opportunity to make a short visit to the Agua de Gato valley. You will be able to meet the locals in their daily lives, visit a distillery and taste the famous “grogue”, the Cape Verdean rum very popular with visitors and locals, and we will also learn the board game of uril.
Once the Kachupa is ready we will return to eat it with the family.
