An experience designed as a journey, not just a simple excursion
This 2-day private immersion takes you off the beaten track of southern Tunisia, to meet Berber cultures, Saharan landscapes, and iconic film locations. The pace is deliberately balanced to favour discovery, exchange, and authenticity.
Day 1 – From Djerba to the gates of the Sahara: Berber villages & oases
We'll pick you up right from your accommodation in Djerba. You'll travel in an air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle, accompanied by a local driver-guide who's passionate about the history and traditions of southern Tunisia.
Toujane – Panorama and Berber heritage
First stop in the Berber village of Toujane, perched in the mountains. Take a walk through the village, learn about Berber architecture and lifestyle, and snap some photos with a panoramic view.
Matmata – Cave dwellings & cinema
Head to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses.
Visit a traditional home that's still inhabited, with an explanation of local daily life.
Stop at the Sidi Driss Hotel (outside), known for being a Star Wars filming location.
Lunch at a local restaurant, regional cuisine.
Ksar Ghilane – Saharan Oasis
Continue to Ksar Ghilane, an isolated oasis at the gates of the Sahara. Free time to: relax in the natural hot spring, enjoy the calm of the desert.
Free camel ride included to discover the sand dunes.
Optional activities (extra charge): Quad bike tour in the dunes.
At the end of the day: Traditional dinner and overnight stay in a Saharan camp, in a peaceful atmosphere under the stars.
Day 2 – Tataouine and Berber villages: between history and traditions
Breakfast at the camp, then off to the mountainous region of Tataouine.
Chenini or Ghomrassen (Germassa)
Visit an iconic Berber village, known for its architecture and ancient ksour.
Discover film locations, integrated into a spectacular natural landscape.
Photo stop at Chott, a salt lake with changing colours.

You'll arrive in Tataouine:
Snap a pic in front of the famous “Tataouine” sign
Free time at the souk to discover the local crafts and atmosphere
Grab lunch at a local restaurant in Tataouine.
Head back to Djerba in the late afternoon and we'll drop you off at your accommodation.
