On this tour, you can cool off on Thailand's highest peak while taking in the beautiful scenic Doi Inthanon National Park. Nighttime temperatures on the peak can be as low as -8 degrees centigrade. In the cold/dry season, nighttime frosts are common. Daytime temperatures can be surprisingly cold so do not forget a long sleeve jumper. On the way up we will walk on the famous nature trail, Kew Mae Pan (November - May) or Pha Dok Siew (June - October) then visit Wachirithan Waterfalls, The King and Queen Chedi's, (the best views across the park are found here), and then on to the peak of Doi Inthanon the highest mountain in Thailand. Near the top, we will take the Angkha nature walk where you can walk among the unique flora and forests that grow at this altitude. There are both Karen and Hmong villages in the bounds of Doi Inthanon and we will see those at the local market on the way down the mountain before making our way back to Chiang Mai.

Visit Wachirathan Waterfall (pronounced “wah-chee-rah-TAHN”; also spelled Vachirathan) was the second major waterfall on the way up to the summit of Doi Inthanon. Of all the waterfalls we saw in Doi Inthanon National Park, we thought this one had the most power and spray, and it was probably the most impressive of the lot on the mountain’s slopes.

Located in Chiang Mai Province, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, rising 2,565 metres above sea level. Doi Inthanon National Park has lots of amazing variations in its lush geography and forest. It is home to rainforest, mixed forest, and pine forest. The weather is cool throughout the year, especially in the cool season when there will be almost constant fog coverage all day and a stunning phenomenon of Mae Kha Ning or frost flower in the early morning.

Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol and Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri Pagodas were built by the Thai Royal Airforce and Thai Citizens. The purpose of Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol was to build in the honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 50th birthday in 1987 and Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri builds in the honour of Queen Sirikit 50th birthday in 1995. Both places can see the unobstructed beautiful views of Doi Inthanon After visiting the pagodas you will visit the Hmong Market where you can buy local products such as fresh fruits, flowers, etc. then you will have lunch before the trekking activity.
